Electrode Placement Guide

MYOLYN’s systems use adhesive electrodes that are placed on the skin over target muscle groups. This page is one resource you can use as a guide to help you get started with your MYOLYN stimulation system. Since everyone’s body is different, the best way to place electrodes will vary from person to person – experiment to see what works best for you. More comprehensive electrode placement information is available in the user guide for your specific device or the MyoSpark app.

The MyoSpark and MyoCycle use different electrodes, so make sure you are using the correct electrodes for your system. Each system comes with multiple different sizes of electrodes. The best size will depend on the muscle group, the application, and your body type. If you are sensitive to the feeling of the stimulation, larger electrodes can make the stimulation more comfortable.

MyoSpark Electrode Placement

MyoSpark electrodes come in different sizes and shapes so there are multiple electrode configurations you can use for the same muscle group or motion.

Elbow Flexion and Extension – Biceps and Triceps

A person wearing a black sleeveless sports shirt has a fitness device with pads and wires attached to their upper arm, indicating careful electrode placement for muscle stimulation or monitoring. The background is plain white.

Sublux Correction – Deltoids and Triceps Brachii

A person with short dark hair stands with arms outstretched, back facing the camera. An electrode placement is visible on their upper right shoulder—a black adhesive patch with a small white button or sensor.
A person with short dark hair is seen from behind, shirtless, demonstrating electrode placement with two round black pads attached to their right shoulder and upper arm against a white background.

MyoCycle Electrode Placement

MYOLYN supplies 3”x5” rectangle electrodes for larger muscle groups, like the quadriceps and hamstrings of the thigh, and 2”x4” oval electrodes for the smaller muscle groups. Larger electrodes can also be used to reduce the sensation of the stimulation.

Quadriceps

Two people are shown from the waist down, wearing gray shorts. Their electrode placement varies: the left has oval pads and the right has rectangular pads attached to the back of their thighs.

Abdominals
