Partnering in Pursuit of a Purpose

MYOLYN’s mission is:

To improve health and human performance by empowering people to move.

In order to fulfill this mission, the company formalized a commitment:

MYOLYN discovers and meets customer needs with products that are innovative, affordable, and easy-to-use.

As part of the process of discovering customer needs and finding solutions to meet those needs, MYOLYN partners with leading rehabilitation hospitals, physical therapy clinics, and research institutions.

Partners

Shepherd Center

MYOLYN has been working with the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for several years to develop new innovative electrical stimulation systems that better meet clinical needs. In 2023, MYOLYN and Shepherd formalized that partnership.

The Shepherd Center is a non-profit, world-renowned neurorehabilitation hospital specializing in spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological conditions.

Through this partnership, MYOLYN is able to leverage Shepherd Center’s patient insights and clinical expertise to inform the research and development of its devices. The collaboration provides a direct line of communication between world-class rehabilitation professionals and MYOLYN’s innovative development team.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital

Based in Boston, Spaulding Rehabilitation is a leader in rehabilitative medicine offering world-class care, promoting medical education and advancing research.

MYOLYN has been working with Spaulding for several years, specifically their ExPD program (Exercise for Persons with Disabilities). A core part of the ExPD program is FES rowing – using functional electrical stimulation to help patients perform dynamic, whole-body rowing exercise. MYOLYN developed FES stimulators to help facilitate Spaulding’s FES rowing program, and the ExPD program is an instrumental testbed for early feedback on new technologies MYOLYN develops.

Brooks Rehabilitation

For over five decades, Brooks Rehabilitation has been at the forefront of physical rehabilitation care. The Florida non-profit is recognized as a premier rehabilitation system and ranks among the top 20 nationally according to U.S. News & World Report.

Brooks’ Neuro Recovery Center (NRC) is a state-of-the art neurorehabilitation facility that provides access to specialized equipment after traditional therapy has ended. The NRC helped MYOLYN conduct clinical testing on both the first and second versions of its MyoCycle FES cycling therapy systems, and continues to provide critical insights into the needs of patients and clinicians.
